Lynn Cheney, Laura Bush, Poseidon, Josh Lucas, Gay Richard Dreyfuss, and Website Update

It's just another Manic Monday friends and bloggers. Hope those of you who were able to celebrate with their mothers, children, pets, etc., had a great day, and for those of you without a mom to celebrate with, hope your day was spent with friends and family. Mama Guru enjoyed her day, and I was glad to spend it with her. Speaking of mom's, as much as I think Lynn Cheney should be slapped around and given a worst acting trophy for "outrage and shock," about her daughter being a lesbian in the 2000 and 2004 Presidential Election campaign, there may be a glimmer of hope in her. At least I picture it in my mind that she finally sat First Lady, Laura Bush, down for a nice mother to mother chat and bitch slapped some sense into her. On Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, Wallace asked First Lady Bush what she thought about using the gay marriage ammendment as a campaign tool to fire up the conservatives. Bush replied "Well, I don't think it should be used as a campaign tool, obviously. But I do think it's something that people in the United States want to debate. And it requires a lot of sensitivity to talk about the issue, a lot of sensitivity." OMG, for a second I thought she had an original thought in her and was being at least open. Of course, her eyes soon glazed back over to the Conservative zombie state and finished, "People, I have found, over the country don't want the governor of Massachusetts or the mayor of San Francisco to make the choice for them — the courts of Massachusetts, I should say. So I think it deserves debate. I think it's something that people want to talk about." She also basically brushed over the whole 'gay families at the White House Easter Egg Hunt,' fiasco.

Needing a break from the website updating this weekend, I went with a couple friends to see the new Poseidon movie. The original movie has risen to a somewhat 'cult' classic, and I enjoyed watching quasi gay icon Shelley Winters swimming for her life in it. I think this remake is much more action packed with of course great special effects, and I never consider spending a couple of hours watching Josh Lucas on the big screen a waste of time. The movie has Richard Dreyfuss, as a gay man, planning on taking his life while on the cruise after breaking up with his boyfriend. I thought his character was handled very well, and enjoyed Dreyfuss, who I think creates believability in every role he has ever taken, from Close Encounters, to Goodbye Girl, to Mr. Hollands Opus. If you are looking for a good action movie between Mission Impossible 3 and X-Men 3, this should do it for you.
This is going to be a short post, because I am finishing the updates for the website and they should be up late tonight or tomorrow morning. It was hard to choose this updates "Hot Date and Hot Couple of the Month," but I dont think you will be dissappointed. I am very excited about the new HIV/AIDS Awareness page I have added with the fantastic help of fellow blogger Mikey. I will blog more about that tomorrow. If you havent got all the information you wanted off the website, head there today to get any recipe's for food or drinks featured, date topics, etc. I am still looking for lots more people to put their names and locations on the Frappr map, so if you havent done so, get on over and click the top left of the map, it's easy to do. Well, I am back to website updating, have a great day friends...........GG
