MEME Monday, The Loss of an Icon (joke), In The News, Three Dimensional Luck and Power Test, Daily Eye Candy
UGH!!! It's Monday again blogger friends, hope you all had a great weekend but are ready to ugh! our way back into another week. I was able to catch up on some projects this weekend, and got a little relaxation time as well. I want to share with you an announcement I got in my email at work today. Some of you may have seen it before, it's not new, but I had not seen it and it made me laugh, so here we go....
LOSS OF AN ICON.....
It is with the saddest heart that I must pass on the following news. Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment and culinary community.
The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 72.
Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, The Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with "flours".
Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was "kneaded". Doughboy "rose" quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with "turnovers".
He was not considered a very smart "cookie", wasting much of his dough on "half-baked" schemes. Despite being a little "flaky" at times, he still, even as a "crusty" old man, was considered a "roll" model for millions.
Doughboy is survived by his wife "Play Dough"; two children "John Dough" and "Jane Dough"; plus they had "one in the oven". He is also survived by his elderly father, "Pop Tart".
The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.
Hope that made you giggle. A couple of news articles that got my attention today..... Wisconsin Travel Industry Fears Boycott Over Anti-Gay Measure, World AIDS Conference Gets Under Way, and Australian Gays Protest Ban On Gay Marriage .
Our MEME of the day is to take the Three Dimension Luck and Power Test. I guess I am pretty balanced out, no matter what the little voices inside my head are saying, LOL.. let me know what it says about you...........
You Are Balanced - Realist - Powerful |
You feel your life is controlled both externally and internally. You have a good sense of what you can control and what you should let go. Depending on the situation, you sometimes try to exert more control. Other times, you accept things for what they are and go with the flow. You are a realist when it comes to luck. You don't attribute everything to luck, but you do know some things are random. You don't beat yourself up when bad things happen to you... But you do your best to try to make your own luck. When it comes to who's in charge, it's you. Life is a kingdom, and you're the grand ruler. You don't care much about what others think. But they better care what you think! |
It was recommended to me, that I need to at least acknowledge the source of my pics that I post as Daily Eye Candy, since I hold no copyright to them. As I have said all along, these are random pictures I find hot around the Internet, and I hope people do not think I am ripping them off, but where hotness gathers, I like to go visit, lol. So as of today, I will say again that I have no copyright to any of the eye candy you see on these pages. I will post this warning on one of the blog side panels this afternoon, and will attribute the source where I found the pics here each day before the pics. Of course I have no way of knowing if the source site has the copyright either, and in most cases where I find them, I doubt it. If you find a picture on The Gay Guru blog, website, or whatever, please email me with proof of copyright, and it will be removed immediately. Today's Eye Candy is courtesy of being found at "The Body Boys" blog. Thanx again blogger friends, and enjoy your week...........GG
