Charles Barkley, Real Time with Bill Maher, You Tube Video Treat, Daily Eye Candy

How's it going Blogger Friends? I dont have much to talk about today, but I did want to comment a bit on basket ball great Charles Barkley's interview coming up Sunday night on the Fox SportsNet show, "CMI: The Chris Meyers Interview". The former NBA MVP, who is considering running as a Democratic candidate for governor in his home state of Alabama, believes Republicans have screwed up the country and is "struggling with my idea of what religion is." Barkley was a Republican until recently, saying he switched parties when the Republicans "lost their minds." He said he is troubled by some of the actions of people in the United States in the name of religion. "Religious people in general are so discriminatory against other people, and that really disturbs me," he said. "My idea of religion is we all love and respect. We all sin, but we still have common decency and respect for other people. So right now I'm struggling with my idea of what religion is." He also said he supports gay marriage. "I think if they want to get married, God bless them," Barkley said. I am not sure what qualifications Barkley brings to the table, but I sure support his ideals. I think we need more people in government that are more interested in what is right, than in what is politically correct.

Speaking of politically incorrect, one of my favorite shows, "Real Time with Bill Maher", is premiering it's new season a week from tomorrow. If you dont get HBO, you are missing a fantastic commentary show, with an admittedly Liberal bent. What I like best about the show, is it is generally very truthful in it's delivery and portrayal and will take on the Democrats and their blunders as well as the Republicans. Bill fills his weekly panel with a good cross section of "right" and "left" proponants, and there is usually some great debate going on, with Maher's perfect sense of sarcasm and wit.

I was doing my usual You Tube surfing, when I came across this awesome video about the hottest couple on Wisteria Lane at "Desparate Housewives". No not, Susan and Mike.........mmmmmmmmm dreamy Ryan Carnes and Shawn Pyfrom, Andrew and Justin. And it's set to awesome music by Cascada..........Enjoy............

And if that wasn't enough Eye Candy for one day, we do have our daily dose, found today on blogger friends, Proceed At Your Own Risk........Enjoy .....GG

"HUMP"day Wednesday, Chinchilla Sitting, A Well Written Op-Ed Piece, California has 4 GLBT Bills Pending, Expanded Eye Candy

It's "HUMP"day Wednesday again Blogger Friends. Time to enjoy our weekly expanded version of yummy Eye Candy! Hope things are doing well for you all as we hit the "hump" of the midweek day. I am still busy as heck, and added to my list of other responsibilities this week is "Chinchilla Sitter." My best friend, and str8 mate Jay and his fiance, have gone cruising down in the bahamas (Only J could go cruising during hurricane season....can you say Ernesto boys and girls..oy vey!!), and I am set to help check in on their pet chinchilla "Cheech." Luckily, another friend is in charge of the every day feeding of Cheech, I am the "back-up" to make sure everything is okay every other day or so, lol. Hmmmmm, how to describe a chinchilla...let's just say it's the "Dumbo" of the rat/hamster family. It's oversize ears make it kind of a cartoonish looking rat or hamster. Cheech has been around for a long time and Jay has taken care of him in sickness and in health and he keeps hanging in there, you gotta love Cheech. Oh well, that's what friends are for, One of these days I will take a vacation and Jay can check in on my pet ummmmmm..... ferret, yea, that's right, ferret, Jay can check in on ummmmmm...... Godzilla, yup, Godzilla it is...LMAO, I am sooooo not a pet person, it's hard enough taking care of one oversize Gay Guru, let alone another lil creature that I would hate to ever neglect.

I wanna thank my blogger friends at "Queerty Blog", for pointing me towards this well written op-ed piece in the NY Blade by Chip Arndt,(former husband of Lance Bass's boyfriend Reichen Lehmkuhl, and co-winner of the Amazing Race 4.) It's about the continued acceptance of slurring the GLBT community in the press, and makes some good points. You can read the article HERE.

In The News...........California Governor Arnold Schwarzenneger has an interesting time ahead of him, to prove just how much of a friend he is to the community as.....Four LGBT Bills Move Forward In Calif. The Governor has been walking a tightrope with queer legislation, having signed more GLBT friendly acts in to law in California's history of one Governor, but also having veto'ed the most historic and fought after bills that passed the legislature. He signed one of the four bills, one that is in my opinion fairly stupid, one that bans discrimination in state operated or funded programs on the basis of actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity. It is said to stop discrimination in getting help from police/fire/ambulance, welfare, and other state sponsored programs that should have nothing to do with sexual orientation, and really never does. The other three bills are; A very watered down version of the bill to teach some gay history in public schools, that has been stripped to simply prohibit any negative portrayal of gays in textbooks and other instructional material, another would allow registered domestic partners to file state income taxes jointly and have their earned income treated as community property for state tax purposes, and the final bill would address the use of so-called "panic defense" strategies, whereby criminal defendants attempt to reduce their culpability for violent crimes by claiming that they "panicked" upon discovering a victim's sexual orientation or gender identity. With pressure from Schwarzenneggers Republican backers to distance himself from GLBT issues that the conservative base have a problem with, it will be interesting to see how these bills play out.

Today's delicious Eye Candy for our expanded "HUMP"day Wednesday, comes from fellow blogger friend Marko at Marks Planet, and are some of my favorite so far.........enjoy blogger friends.....G

One Year Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina

I just want to take a couple seconds to recognize the anniversary of one of the greatest national disasters in my lifetime and give a shout out to the residents of the Gulf States, letting them know they are not forgotten. New Orleans and the South, are some of the few places I have not visited in my trek across 40 of these United States, that I have taken. I cannot believe I may never be able to see the majesty of what was and hopefully what will be again. As I am sure my blogger friend SoCalGal is thinking, there are problems from major restorative efforts still needed, human kindness and help of our fellow man, and even our treasured pets as in this article. Let's not make an underprepared disaster relief effort get silenced until all is well again in our great southern region. God Bless you all on the Gulf Coast and let's pray that Ernesto and F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O,P NEVER come to pass on our shores this late summer. Thanx to ABC News for the photo's, lets hope we never have to take any of these again!!

Iraq War, National Priorities Project, Phelps Clan TRIES to Take On Meade Kansas and Loses, Daily Eye Candy

Hey Blogger Friends, Tuesday is here and I have another busy week on my plate. I have been in a bit of a political bent lately, gearing up for the mid-term elections and getting my political heaven or hell site ready to launch in time for them. I have always been a strong opponent of our latest war in Iraq. At it's base, President Bush started the war with only one real valid premise, "He was a bad man and did many despicable things to his people." If that was all we needed as a basis to start a war, you would think we would be in a lot more of them. I wont take this space to give all my views on this war, they are many, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I do want you all to consider this......

The National Priorities Project, has compiled a data base on lot's of information about spending priorities in our country. I want to give you an example of what the money we have been spending in Iraq, could have been used for here in the US, and what the money given to the wealthiest 1% tax breaks could have been used for. I am going to give you an example of Ohio, and you can link HERE, click on "tradeoffs" on the left side of page, keep location at "state", change the statee to "your state", for program select "cost of war in Iraq" (check out the tax-cuts to the rich too,) keep trade-off to "all", and click "get the trade offs," to figure out what could have been spent in your home state. The statistics say that we have spent over 310 billion dollars so far on the war, and for all intents and purposes, we are not any further along than we were when it started. Take a look at where we could have spent this money on the war, or not given the Republicans and their top 1% tax cuts, here in the US............Pick your poison people...................

Taxpayers in Ohio will pay $11.2 billion for the cost of war in Iraq. For the same amount of money, the following could have been provided:

1,521,022 People with Health Care or
194,559 Elementary School Teachers or
1,719,697 Head Start Places for Children or
5,995,436 Children with Health Care or
102,392 Affordable Housing Units or
1,257 New Elementary Schools or
1,679,651 Scholarships for University Students or
176,333 Music and Arts Teachers or
258,619 Public Safety Officers or
21,367,091 Homes with Renewable Electricity or
227,647 Port Container Inspectors

$56.5 billion in tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% this year could be spent on the people of Ohio instead. If that money were used to support state and local programs, the residents of Ohio could have $2.0 billion, which could provide:

273,448 People with Health Care or
34,978 Elementary School Teachers or
309,165 Head Start Places for Children or
1,077,853 Children with Health Care or
18,408 Affordable Housing Units or
226 New Elementary Schools or
301,966 Scholarships for University Students or
31,701 Music and Arts Teachers or
46,494 Public Safety Officers or
3,841,354 Homes with Renewable Electricity or
40,926 Port Container Inspectors

My favorite thing in the news to report today is........Gay Supporters Outnumber Phelps Clan In Flag Protest. The so-called "church" came to Meade, Kansas, to protest a rainbow flag being flown over a small hotel operated by J.R. and Robin Knight. The couple bought the hotel two years ago and immediately got into a conflict with local officials over a special assessment. Some residents say their problem with the Knights is not the flag but their "California ways." The Knights, transplants from California, got the flag as a present from their 12 year old son, who remained there. He said the flag reminded him of "The Wizard of Oz." Since the local newspaper in Meade identified the flag as a gay pride symbol, J.R. and Robin Knight have had bricks thrown through a window and demonstrations outside. But the Knights say the publicity has actually increased business at their restaurant in the old Lakeway Hotel, the Wichita Eagle reported. "It's been hell since we moved here. It really is surreal," J.R. Knight said. But he said he and his wife plan to stay in Meade -- with their flag.

My finds of daily eye candy, come today from one of my favorite porn review sites and "insider" to the busines, at "Starrfucker"..........enjoy.......GG

MEME Monday, My Weekend, In The News, Fun Monday MEME, Eye Candy

It's MEME Monday blogger friends, I hope you all had a great weekend. I had a bizarre weekend sleepwise as I adjust to working afternoons, now that training is over. I told you a bit of my drunken soiree on Friday night, staying out until 5 in the morning was A LOT better than waking up at 5 in the morning, lol. I appreciate all the kind comments and emails on hangover cures, It was a doozy on Saturday!! I hit a couple clubs with my friends Saturday night, and one of the local gay bars under new ownership really pissed me off.(I drank mostly water this night.) Before the club had like 8 owners or some stupid number, so it was always fun to watch all the free booze given away to "one of the owners" friends. You knew they couldnt stay in business that long that way. Plus they had the fortune of having a huge kitchen as well to make some extra money, but of all the owners, no one knew how to operate or promote it so that idea fell flat as well. Rumor mill has it that at long last the infighting of the owners caused 2 to buy out all the others. There was a big yellow sign attached to the roof proclaiming "New Ownership", (we are gay people, can a huge vinyl sign roped on to the roof entrance be more tacky? I am embarrassed.) Anyway, my friend and I go in, and I havent been in quite a while, so here's what I see different; (mind you I dont know if this is recent or has been done since waaaay back when my last visit,) A lot of the kitchen has been removed, and tables moved over to that area with an unfinished ceiling looking like crap up above with vents and wires and so on, an extended "add-on" to the dance floor, also tacky, and it seems that to save money the new owners might be saving labor by stocking the bar back up after a busy night by waiting until the next day when you are dead the first couple of hours. How do I know that? EVERY drink we got out of the cooler was luke cold to warm. Looks like they dont rotate product as well. Now you know I usually dont do club reviews and the only reason I am bringing this up, is I guess out of a bit of pettiness, yes the Gay Guru can be a biatch every once in a while. The topper of the evening was when my friend had left his gum in the car and wanted to go out and get it. They wanted him to pay his $2 dollar cover AGAIN, for a 45 second trip to the parking lot. I couldnt believe we were paying a cover to begin with in Ytown, Ohio on a Saturday night with no live entertainment and a marginal DJ, but thats just me. But to be too cheap to put that 2 dollars into a system like a stamp or wristbands so someone can drop off excess clothing, or get some cig's or gum from the car, hassle free, is that too much to ask?? We stayed briefly, and went to another club 25 minutes away, it was worth it to leave. Anyway, between drinking all night Friday, bar hopping on Saturday WITHOUT much drinking and playing too damn much Legend of Zelda on the GameCube Sunday, I changed my sleeping habits to get back to blogging in the mornings during the weekdays.

In The News, Lot's of politcal news as the campaigns pick up..........It seems my fellow Democrats arent stupid, just slow in coming to realize their idiocracy by "Alabama Democrats Reinstate Lesbian Candidate's Win"; proving that she is just as wacky now as when she stopped the recount and gave us Bushie back in 2000, "GOP Senate Hopeful Disputes Separation Of Church & State"; another country surpassing us in logical thinking, "Sweden Considers Gay Marriage"; citing that writing homophobic remarks is just what wacky college kids do, "Senate Hopeful 'Regrets' Anti-Gay Columns"; and finally, in 'dont we have enough going against us', "Gay Domestic Violence 'Invisible Epidemic"

For our fun MEME of the day, I am contemplating doing some highlights to try to drag out the summer for every bit it's worth, since I missed most of it in training. I rarely highlight my hair, its very dark, and if they dont do it right, it looks like albino tiger stripes or worse. I thought I would find out my inner hair color, but I am not sure if I agree....maybe I will leave the highlights in extra long before rinsing, but thats as far as i will go.........enjoy this

"On My Last Gay Nerve", Eye Candy

Hey Blogger Friends, we are at our second installment of "On My Last Gay Nerve!!" Sundays, I am going to post things that have either pissed me off along the week, or just things I have been thinking about that gets me upset or I dont understand. Please feel free to agree, disagree, add your own two cents, or give your own rant of a topic of your choosing. I look forward to your comments and emails. Hopefully this will act as a cathartic outburst to start out our week, get rid of all the bad energy by unloading whats on our proverbial chest's. It sure beats a rousing chorus of Kum-By-Ya!!.

You know what gets on my last gay nerve?? The government that doesnt think I have enough self control to keep MY dick in MY pants and YOUR dick out of MY mouth. Sorry for the vulgarities, but I have had it up to here with the military thinking that gays and lesbians should not serve in the military, because our sexuality would be too distracting to ourselves and other service members........BULLSH*T!! Hey, I enjoy looking at a hot guy in uniform as much as the next homo, but I think I can figure out if I am cruising the streets of Iraq or Afghanistan looking for mines and sh*t, how you look in uniform is the LEAST of my worries.

Members of SOULFORCE, the group started by the students that went around to America's Conservative colleges and universities this Spring teaching diversity, is at it again. In the, "Right to Serve" campaign, openly gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender young adults who are willing to serve will attempt to enlist in the military in thirty-one cities across the country. The military's current "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, signed into law by President Clinton in 1993, is government-sanctioned discrimination. Over 10,000 soldiers have been discharged under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." Training replacements for those discharged, including more than 80 critical linguists, has cost the American taxpayers at least $364 million. They have been to over 3 cities so far and have been shown the door every time.

Yet I read in the paper today about the government/military's "back-door draft," keeping more and more American soldiers in back to back, and extended tours of duty in the fight on terror. The numbers have been between 10 and 14 thousand troops that have been "re-commisioned", after thinking that their service time was done and over with. When President Nixon eliminated the draft, the leading military minds of the time said that they could not see another draft necessary ever, unless we had a prolonged war lasting over 6 months and utilizing more than 100,000 troops. Guess what kids, we are in over 3 years, and still have over 140,000 troops in Iraq alone. If you count President Bush calling for a "War On Terror," right after September 11th, that means on the fifth anniversary in a couple weeks this war will be longer than World War II, the Korean War, The Civil War, and a few more.

Wake up and smell the napalm and get your heads out of your asses military peoples. Gays and Lesbians who are qualified in their positions, deserve the same respect, duty and placement of our heterosexual counterparts. I would feel much safer with a ticked off Lesbian with an Assault Rifle, than a tired Marine on his third mandatory deployment extension, anyday. So thats what's on my last gay nerve this week blogger friends, I look forward to hearing from you.

Todays Eye Candy I found while visiting one of my favorite sites, \\ \\OT Guys, Have a great week blogger friends.............GG

Man, Do I Have a Hangover, Missing Blogger Love, Eye Candy

Okay, so here's the deal blogger friends..... Yesterday was my last day of training for my new assignment at work. Yes, the alarm clock is in a million little pieces, and I will hopefully not be using it again for a long, long while. So upon completion of our last day, the others taking the same class these past 8 weeks with me, decided we need to celebrate the end of our training and going back to our respective departments. My first mistake, was not finding the time to eat anything between the end of class and our meeting up at the bar inside the hotel that rhymes with "holiday inn"! Not funny, but you should see how I look typing this..... At our neighborhood "Inn," there is a nice bar, and also the "Funny Farm Comedy Store". We all stayed until closing and proceeded to get soooo drunk until it was "not" funny. Hence the missing post of yesterday, and the incredible hangover of today that is going to cut this post short. I am sorry for missing out on my post yesterday, and you will have to bear with me until waaay later today or tomorrow for another one. Hope you all enjoy your weekend, and I will talk to you soon.

By the way, I have lost my list of blogs I owe a reciprocal link to, and I need to get you all added to the blogroll. Some I am very late on posting the links and I am sorry, but by the end of the weekend, I will have you all on my blogroll. If we were supposed to have traded links and you have mine up and I have not added yours yet, send me your blog name and link again in an email along with a coupon for thirty lashes for me to beat myself with. Any fellow bloggers out there reading this who has not requested a link exchange, or would like to, please email me in the top right column, or leave a comment here, and I will get that done.

I will add some Eye Candy for yesterday and today, hotties I have found on Best Gay Blogs, and will have some more thoughts and eye candy tomorrow..laterz.....GG

Training is Over, Patrice is Evicted from Supernova, In The News, Eye Candy

OMG!! The Day is Finally Here Blogger Friends.......Tomorrow, (Friday), is officially my last day of training for my new position at work. At approximately 5:45am tomorrow morning, (later if I hit the snooze a couple of times,) you will here the CRACK heard around the world as I throw the alarm clock at the nearest wall. I am usually an early riser, but I HATE to be woken up by alarm clocks. The past 8 weeks of 5:30am - 6am, has taken a toll on me. I stopped my going to my gym as regularly. I was a lil more grumpy. I gained a little of my weight back. And I negelcted my Gay Guru blogger friends. Hopefully after maybe one week to adjust back to an afternoon schedule, thing will get normal around here again. Again thanks for sticking through it all with me the last 8 weeks, and here's to getting back on track. One thing that will still be behind a bit is the website. I know you have all been checking it out over www.thegayguru.net, but it just hasnt been updated due to lack of time. Some good news, I actually had a designer contact me and offer to redesign the site so it's a bit more sleeker, faster operating, works more smoothly with ALL browsers, and a couple of other nice tweaks and perks. If you will all forgive me a little longer, I will be unveiling the new site hopefully within 2-4 weeks, it depends on my new designers availability.

After slowly coming out of her shell and performing some decent rock songs the past 3 weeks for the most part, Patrice has lost her chance to front Supernova. Magni made his surprising second appearance in the bottom 3 and Toby rounded out the cellar. I was happy that Toby was able to front for Supernova's new release track last night, but although the vocals were good enough, he honestly didnt "look" like someone I could see fronting the band. The surprise of the night of course, was the burning at the stake of Dilana. Of course these things are edited to elicit viewer response, but her comments were obviously said during the week and very hurtful, and just plain rude or wrong about her fellow contestants. For a few tense moments, I thought they might turn the entire show on it's head and forget the bottom three and just toss Dilana out on principle. I can't wait until next week.

There are a lot of interesting stories in the news today... Three Cities, More Rejections For Gay Prospective Soldiers, I am not sure where I stand on this, I can see her point, but it still pisses me off that she is delaying legislation, kill it and write better, or pass it....Hilary Clinton Accused Of Tying Up AIDS Bill To Further Presidential Aspirations, Anti-Gay Lawmaker: Brown V School Board Ruling "Was Wrong", At it again....Calif. Assembly Sinks To Homophobic Shouting Match, And finally, in the "WTF, How did a land who is known for Apartheid, get ahead of the US in the Gay Marriage front??"....South Africa Cabinet OKs Gay Marriage Bill

And Todays Eye Candy comes from One Third Basketi, enjoy.........GG

Rockstar Supernova Tuesday, In The News, Expanded Eye Candy

Welcome back to "HUMP"day Wednesday Blogger Friends. Has it really been a week since we have had our expanded version of 7 hotties instead of 2...yummy!! Before we partake of the Eye Candy, (alright, I know you all skip ahead dammit!!), let's talk a little bit about my favorite show I told you about, Rockstar Supernova. Last night the remaining 7 rockers all did a pretty damn good job. Patrice with her original song, actually looked and sounded like a rockstar for the first time this season on night one, instead of singing for her life on elimination night. Ryan Starr, my new secret boyfriend, and now perched to possibly get into the final 3, got the second original song choice of the night and totally rocked the house. The only disappointment was him trashing his new guitar given to him as a gift by Supernova, after the band said they wanna see someone trash something. It came off pretty cheesy since it was just after the suggestion. Poor Storm, didnt stick up for herself again and got a hard song, but did pretty well. She was one of my top 3 pics at the start, but she is losing a little steam. Dilana was beautiful and sang as soulful as ever, but was a little bit of a letdown after last week's fronting the band. Magnis did a great vocal job on Nirvanna's song, but his usual strong stage presence was as on as usual. I think being in the bottom three for the first time last week threw him a bit. I still believe he will be one of the final 3. Toby did a MUCH better job than last week, but even though I am gay, I thought him taking off his hoodie to reveal his naked upper body was kind of a letdown. Finally was Lukas, who seems to be such a fan favorite and admired from Supernova. I just don't get it. He has the look, maybe SOME stage presence, but he just annoys the hell out of me. I am not sure what it is, but if he is in the final 3, I am going to be mad!! Tonight we will see who gets voted off, I am thinking it's going to be Patrice or a huge upset of Storm or Toby..... Tomorrow, I will talk about the elimination and give you some inside scoop from a long time ago. I hate to give away my age, but I actually grew up and hung out with Tommy Lee!!! Yup, we were in a local youth group together, (can you believe Tommy Lee in a youth group?? He still had the long hair!!), and I will dish a little old school dirt on him since I know he would NEVER be reading this blog, lol. (pic obtained from the Rockstar Website)

In the news....Arnold seems to learn quickly or knows how to cut and run fast with: Schwarzenegger Drops Gay-Foe Advisor, Four Gays Stabbed In Moscow Home Invasion, Deep Divide On Gays Highlights Fla. GOP Gubernatorial Race, and finally, Gay Discharges Mount As Bush Orders Troop Recall.

And now on to our Expanded edition of "HUMP"day Wednesday Eye Candy. As always, these pictures do not represent or imply the sexuality of any of the people in the pictures. These are pictures found randomly around the net who are in my opinion, HOT! I hold no copyright to the photos and try to credit to where I found the pictures when possible. If you hold the copyright to any photo on this blog, please email me with proof of copyright, and it will be removed immediately. Today pictures are more random than usual, a couple are Falcom Studios Models, thank you Falcon, and the rest came up in a random google search of hot guys.....enjoy.......GG

Nothing to Blog About, A Couple Vids, and some Eye Candy

Not too much fun and exciting to write about this Tuesday, Blogger Friends. Okay, so these are both a little older, but still kinda funny, I got these in emails a while back and havent done anything with them yet, and it's a good excuse to use when I have nothing to blog about, LOL. Of course my secret boyfriend Ryan Reynolds has cracked me up and stole my heart since he was on "Two Guys, A Girl, and A Pizza Shop", the most stupidest named comedy show ever, but it had 2 hot guys, lol. Van Wilder was pretty stupid funny, and it was before Ryan got hella buff in "The Amityville Horror." The second video is from Dave Chappelles old show before he freaked out and ran away to Africa or something. Not sure if it's funny or offensive to us gays, but hey, you gotta laugh at yourselves every once in a while..enjoy

Not much to post about today Blogger Friends, enjoy some Eye Candy, and check out ROCKSTAR SUPERNOVA, tonight at 10. Thanx goes to Addicted to Boy Beauty for providing my Eye Candy finds today............GG

For our fun MEME of the day, since the sun is slowly coming down on the summer and colleges and schools are getting back at it, let's see what your summer theme music "should have been". This was originally to find your summer anthem before summer started, now fill it out with what really happened over the summer and lets see what music "should have" been running thru your head.....here's mine.....

"Inturns", On My Last Gay Nerve, Eye Candy

Weekend is over Blogger Friends, hope you all got what you needed to do done, and had a little play time as well. I am knocking things off my list slowly but surely. So basically I have been pretty good about swearing off soap opera's. I was hooked in college of getting out of class, grabbing a bite to eat and "study", to the stories of Erica and Tad on "All My Children", Vicki and Bo on "One Life to Live", and of Course, Luke, Lucky, and the Quartermains on "General Hospital." As "real world" responsibilities and jobs set in, I started weaning myself off them, with an occasional catch-up session on sick days and random days off. (Isn't it amazing in soaps where you can take a year or so off watching and the same characters are still doing the same ol' stuff to the same ol' people.) I have been more or less "soap free" for the last 5 years or so, until THIS came along!! It seems the good folks at "As The World Turns," are in need of some fresh blood, and have turned their casting into a reality show. Brilliant thinking really, one more reality shows, like the "Rockstar Supernova" that I talked about, are doing. You get advertisers paying for your auditions through the commercials on the reality show, a test of actual watchers of the soap to have some say into their characters, or at the very least, build up a fan base for when they actually hit the airwaves. Anyway, I got wind of this from Gay.com this weekend because of the "Gay Kiss" episode number 15, and spent a good deal of the weekend watching it from the beginning. There is HUGE drama as the actors square off for the new role on the soap, and you really see that a lot of hollywood types are actually as rude, selfish and obnoxious, BEFORE they were stars, as they appear to be afterwards. I am officially drawn in again, and will be checking out these smarmy lil punks every mon/wed/fri on the web.

If you check out the above "webisode" number 15, it also brings me to my new feature I am adding to the weekly blog, that I am calling, "On My Last Gay Nerve"!!! Every Sunday, I am going to rant about something that is just getting on 'my last gay nerve', be it life in general, politics, something that happened at the mall, whatever. I am going to post it late every Sunday, and use it as a good system of venting out all of my frustrations on Sunday evening, so I can approach the new week with a lot of pent up aggression out of the way, LOL. YOU can also use it as a way to get your frustrations out before a new week starts, by using emails and comments to agree, disagree, or rant about your own issues if you want!! I will start out a little mild this week, because I got most of my aggressions out with a cue ball and a poolstick last night, but here we go............

You know what gets on my last gay nerve?? EX'ES!! No, not those dating ex'es, well yea, them too, but not really what I am ranting about here. The last webisode above touched on it briefly when that Ryan Gosling wannabee, Ian, (though not as hot,) blamed all of his snobbery and being an ass because he "grew up a fat kid." I am so tired of Ex-Fat people, Ex-Smokers, Ex-Gas Guzzlers, blaming their faults on these past lives. You know what Ian?? You were probably an obnoxious fat person and a**hole, back then too. As someone who struggles with their weight, I understand it is not a cure-all when you lose weight, but life should be a bit better I would imagine. If you were a good person before, a slimmed down person may be less to love, but still good I would hope. Ex-smokers?? Puh-leeeeeeease, I don't even smoke and dont like it either, but when an ex-smoker basically goes into histerics if they are going to get smoke all over their clothes, or sit too close to the smoking section....Give me a break! It seems if you are a former "anything" nowadays, it gives you the right to rant and carry on like an expert in the field or something. If anything, I expect you to show a little more compassion with the struggle. Don't get me wrong, I am all for giving up addictions and self-destructive behavior that is bad for you or others, but try not to spit on me looking down from your high horse, okay? Congratulations, you did a good thing, you are better off for it, now learn a little humility and remember what the darkness was like back then. That's all, I will break you in easy this time, but Ex'es really do get on my last gay nerve.....ex-boyfriends....now that, my blogger friends, is for another post at the Gay Guru After Dark, lol.

Have a great new week blogger friends, I feel better already getting that off my chest, be sure to share your pet peeves with me, or respond to mine.....and here is a little eye candy to get you going for the week, courtesy of Bent Blog. Cya....GG
